Brandon Steinheim rushed for 193 yards and scored three touchdowns to lead Wesley to a 42-7 victory over Ferrum in a Division III college football opener on Friday. It was the 11th consecutive regular-season game in which the All-American tailback has topped the 100-yard mark.
Wesley quarterback Paul Findeisen guided the Wolverine offense to 418 total yards, completing 11 of 15 passes for 184 yards and two touchdowns. Defensively, Wesley held Ferrum to 187 total yards, 120 rushing and 67 passing.
Ferrum's lone score came in the second quarter when Panther quarterback Josh Whitley tossed an 8-yard scoring pass to Linwood Joyner. The play capped a 46-yard drive that pulled Ferrum to 21-7 just before halftime.
