Chamber sets free seminars

CHRISTIANSBURG - The Christiansburg-Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce's Small Business Committee has scheduled a series of free seminars for chamber members, conducted by chamber members.

The meetings will be on the first Tuesday of each month from 8 to 9 a.m. through April 1 in the community room of the New River Valley Mall. Call 382-4251 to register.

The schedule is: Oct. 1: "Investments," conducted by Tim Rosche of Edward Jones Inc.; Nov. 5: "Time Management," by Barry O'Donnell of Virginia Tech; Jan. 7: "Business Tax Preparation," by Darryl Gillespie, of Lester & Gillespie; Feb. 4: "Employment Law," by Tammy Moss of the Center for Employment Law; March 4: "Trends in Employee Benefits and Medical Savings," by Kent E. Bond Insurance & Investment Consulting; April 1: "Collections," by Nancy Davis of Credit Bureau Services.

Secretaries group schedules program

CHRISTIANSBURG - The New River Valley Chapter of Professional Secretaries International will meet Monday at the Texas Steakhouse for a program on Radford University's adult degree program by Adlyn A. Hicks of the university's continuing education department.

Consultant to speak at chamber luncheon

BLACKSBURG - The Blacksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce will sponsor a luncheon Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. at the Marriott with guest speaker Dan Andrews of Andrews Consulting. The cost is $10.

Also Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. at the Marriott, the chamber will sponsor a marketing seminar.
