THE LATEST PROMO: A Pepsi can displaying Virginia Tech's home football schedule.

HOW MANY: 3 million cans

COST: Same as a regular can of Pepsi

WHEN AND WHERE: Enough cans were made to cover a four-week selling period. They are available at any major grocery or department store throughout Virginia as well as several surrounding states.

THE PROBLEM: To increase the number of cans sold, many are being packaged in 12-packs and "cubes." As a result, the buyer may not be able to tell until the cardboard packaging is removed if the cans inside display Tech's schedule. The cubes have been moved through stores' inventories faster than six-packs, so six-packs with the Tech logo may be slower hitting the shelves.
