Duncan anniversary
Guy and Geneva Duncan celebrated their 50th anniversary on August 31, 1996. They were married on August 31, 1946 at the home of the bride's parents. She is the former Geneva Teel. The reception was hosted by their daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Joe Simmons, and their sons, Gregory Duncan and Reginald Duncan. They have four grandchildren, Emily, Jason, Samantha and Zachary Simmons. Mr. Duncan retired after 33 years from Burlington Industries and is now employed part-time by New River Valley Senior Services. Mrs. Duncan retired from a nursing career of 48 years. They are active members of the Christiansburg Church of Christ.
Hall anniversary
Raymond L. and Metter P. Hall celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary today, September 8, 1996. The celebration, hosted by their children, was held at The Homeplace Restaurant in Catawba.
The couple was married on September 7, 1946 in the parsonage of Belmont Baptist Church, Roanoke, Va., by Dr. E. D. Poe.
The couple have 6 children and their spouses, Ronald and Patricia Hall of Roanoke, Raymond, II and Donna Hall of Roanoke, Carolyn and Robert Morris of Salem, Kathie and Billie Camper of Vinton, William and Julianne Hall of Botetourt, and David and Mary Hall of Roanoke. They also have 13 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and 5 step-grandchildren.
Mr. Hall is retired from ITT. Mrs. Hall, the former Metter Pring, retired from Kenrose. They are active members of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Roanoke, Va.
