Sara Palmer scored seven of her 11 points in the opening quarter to spark a fast start as Salem ran away from Brookville 54-32 on Monday night in a non-district game on the Spartans' floor.
Salem (4-0) was paced by Mandy Williams with a game-high 12 points. The Spartans shut down the Bees offensively.
Brookville was paced by Courtney Jones with eight points.
In other games Monday:
Northside 66, Liberty 29: The Vikings jumped on the Minettes early and coasted to a big non-district victory in Bedford.
Liberty (0-5) was 0-for-7 from the field and had 10 turnovers while being shut out in the first quarter.
Northside (4-1) was led by Rosse Hopkins, who scored 14 points. Five other Vikings had at least seven points.
Selena Byers led Liberty with seven points and eight rebounds.
Christiansburg 48, Radford 38: Shannon Hart scored all eight of her points in the fourth quarter as the Blue Demons rallied from a seven-point deficit for a non-district victory over the Bobcats in Radford.
Lisa Dalton led the Christiansburg (2-1) with 12 points.
The Bobcats (4-2), who were held to 12-of-52 field-goal shooting, were paced by Charlee Taylor's 18 points.
Shawsville 80, Rock Gap 53: Megan Foster scored 33 points to lead the Shawnees (4-0) to a non-district victory over the Eagles (4-2) in Rocky Gap.
Foster scored nine points in the first quarter to help Shawsville build its lead. Sarah Hagood scored 13 of her 21 in the second quarter.
Michelle Sarver led the Eagles with 15 points. Amanda Clark, a returning All-Mountain Empire District senior, left the game with a knee injury in the third quarter.
