CHRISTIANSBURG COME BACK, HAUNTS RADFORD

Shannon Hart scored all eight of her points in the fourth quarter as Christiansburg rallied from a seven-point deficit for a 48-38 victory over Radford on Monday night in a non-district game in Radford.

Lisa Dalton led the Blue Demons (2-1) with 12 points.

The Bobcats (4-2), who were held to 12-of-52 field-goal shooting, were paced by Charlee Taylor with 18 points.

Shawsville 80, Rock Gap 53: Megan Foster scored 33 points to lead the Shawnees (4-0) to a non-district victory over the Eagles (4-2) in Rocky Gap.

Foster scored nine points in the first quarter to help Shawsville build its lead. Sarah Hagood scored 13 of her 21 in the second quarter.

Michelle Sarver led the Eagles with 15 points. Amanda Clark, a returning All-Mountain Empire District senior, left the game with a knee injury in the third quarter.

Giles 54, Bland 27: The Spartans (1-3) started strong and finished strong as they doubled the Rockets (0-5) in a non-district game in Bland.

Giles outscored Bland 31-7 in the first and fourth quarters. Kristine White led the Spartans with 16 points.

The Rockets were led by Kelly Dunn's seven points.

Fieldale-Collinsville 67, Tunstall 55: The Cavaliers rode a balanced attack as they picked up their first victory of the season with a non-district triumph over the Trojans in Collinsville.

With Fieldale-Collinsville (1-4) trailing 16-11 in the second quarter, Jennifer Witt hit three 3-pointers to spark the Cavaliers. Tunstall pulled close in the fourth quarter, but Jennifer Floyd hit six of six free-throw attempts to seal the outcome.

Witt finished with 19 points, Carrie Quinlan had 12, Lisa Clark 11 and Floyd 10.

Riverheads 41, Bath County 38, OT: Kara Hughes scored five points in overtime as Riverheads (2-3) pulled away for a non-district victory over the Chargers (1-3) in Hot Springs.

Bath County's Katie Hardbarger had a game-high 18 points.

Rural Retreat 66, Galax 59: The Indians took advantage of several key Maroon Tide turnovers in the second and third quarters to post a non-district victory in Galax. Galax (3-1) had three turnovers in the last two minutes of the second quarter and four turnovers in the third that led to Indians baskets. Erin Kyle led Galax with 19 points and eight rebounds.

Wilson Memorial 57, Parry McCluer 52: In Buena Vista, defending Group A champion Wilson Memorial went to a delay game in the fourth quarter and outscored the Fighting Blues 10-5 for a non-district victory.

Lindsey Coleman led Parry McCluer (1-3) with a game-high 26 points. Wilson Memorial (2-1) was paced by Erin Perry with 19 and Vanessa Hartley with 14.

Bassett Invitational

Bassett 59, Magna Vista 58: Heather Miller scored 19 to help the Bengals hold on for a Peidmont District victory over the Warriors in Bassett.

Jaime Roberts had 15 points for the Bengals (3-0), who had a 48-37 lead after the third quarter.

Magna Vista (2-2) fought back in the fourth quarter from beyond the 3-point line, but was not able to finish the job. Maranda Wade led the Warriors (2-2) with 14 points. Jennifer Taylor added 12 points for the Warriors.

Patrick County 56, Laurel Park 41: Holly Weber scored 17 points to lead the Cougars to a Piedmont District victory over the Lancers.

Weber scored 8 of her 17 in the second quarter to help spark Patrick County (4-1) to a 29-17 lead. Summer East contributed 11 points for the Cougars.

Tiffany Lynch scored a game-high 21 points for Laurel Park (0-4).
