Mayor David Bowers plans his second summit meeting Thursday on the peak of the Roanoke Valley's most recognizable mountain.
The "Summit on the Summit," will take place in the park on the top of Mill Mountain at 4:30 p.m.
The subject will be the future of Mill Mountain Park and cover such topics as preserving the Mill Mountain star, development of hiking paths, and improvements to Mill Mountain Zoo and the wildflower gardens.
The event is the second of three conversations with residents that the mayor promised in his July State of the City address. The first focused on neighborhood needs and city pride. The third, which has yet to be scheduled, will deal with issues affecting Roanoke's youth.
Thursday's summit is open to the public, and the discussions will kick off with comments from invited guests.
