Authorities arrested a Montgomery County man Tuesday on charges that he raped a woman at knife point.
Richard Garland Medley, 40, of Arsenal Circle off Peppers Ferry Road, is being held at the Montgomery County Jail on $200,000 bond. He was arrested on two counts of rape and one count each of abduction and malicious wounding, according to a news release.
The assault was reported Tuesday and deputies met with the victim at Carilion Radford Community Hospital, said Lt. Neal Turner of the Sheriff's Office.
She was treated and released for knife wounds, Turner said. He would not reveal the type of knife used in the attack.
The victim lives near the suspect but is not related to Medley, Turner said.
The victim told police she was raped once in her home while Medley cut her with the knife, Turner reported. The suspect then forced the victim, at knife point, to his home where he raped her again, she told police.
The woman escaped by crawling out a bathroom window at her attacker's home, according to police.
