QUILTS TO BE DISPLAYED AT WILDERNESS FESTIVAL

Members of the Senior Athletes of Montgomery County have been hard at work in recent weeks and months creating their entry in the 1996 Legacy Quilt show.

Their quilt and others will be displayed Sept. 21 in Christiansburg's National Guard Armory when the show is held during the town's annual Wilderness Trail Festival.

Prizes will be awarded in eight categories, including hand pieced, machine pieced, hand appliqued, machine appliqued, novelty, antique, quilted items and wall hangings. One quilt will be selected "The Best of Show" and another "People's Choice" based on votes from the public.

Then the hand-pieced quilt, created by Janie Howell, Adrena Palmer, Doris Oliver and Margie Pugh, will be raffled away Oct. 19 during the 18th annual Senior Arts and Crafts show at the armory. Tickets are $1 and available at Christiansburg Senior Center. Call 382-8173.
