FOR THE RECORD

Tuesday's story about a robbery at the Bank of Fincastle should have said it took Botetourt County sheriff's deputies several hours to find the stolen money. Deputies then sorted and counted the cash. Also, tellers did set off the bank's alarm.

Clarification

Homes for sale listed in 1995 by the Multiple Listing Service of Roanoke Valley Inc. took an average of 100 days to sell, that service said. An article in Sunday's Business section quoted Sam Maxey, operator of For Sale By Owner, that his customers sold their homes in an average of 53 days last year compared to 132 days through Multiple Listing Service. Maxey said Tuesday that he stands by his figures.
