As the tobacco industry has been exposed as predatory and dishonest, extensive publicity has been devoted to its efforts to buy protection through enornous campaign contributions.

Roanoke-area residents should realize that one of the biggest tobacco tools in Virginia is Del. C. Richard Cranwell, the Democrats' majority leader in the House of Delegtes.
