Ocean Reef making new offer for Best

RICHMOND - Miami-based Ocean Reef Management Inc. is revising its offer to buy Best Products Co. Inc. The investment firm last week made an unsolicited offer to buy Best for $63.2 million, or $2 a share.

Rachmil Lekach, Ocean Reef's chairman and chief executive officer, said a new proposal is likely in a couple of days. The company wouldn't provide details.

Industry analysts and vendors say Best has two options: be sold, or seek bankruptcy protection again.
