FORMER DUBLIN OFFICIAL DIES

James Douglas "Doug" Anderson, a member of Dublin Town Council from 1982 through 1990, died Tuesday in a Radford hospital.

Anderson, 58, served as vice mayor while on council. He was a council member when the town began its efforts to obtain the former Burlington Industries property, which has since become part of the town and contains both the Dublin Industrial Park and the future Dublin Town Center, which will include a new town hall.

He was a volunteer with the Dublin Fire Department since t1967. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Stevens Funeral Chapel in Pulaski.
