UNDERCOVER PROBE ENDS WITH ARRESTS

Police arrested two Christiansburg men Wednesday on drug-related charges.

Kurt Koonce, 29, of the 100 block of East Street, was charged with one count of distributing cocaine and one count of possessing cocaine with the intent to distribute, police said. Koonce is held at Montgomery County Jail on $200,000 bond, police said.

Ervin E. Buchannon, 24, of Pioneer Apartments, was charged with distribution of cocaine, police said. He was being held at the Montgomery County Jail on $12,000 bond.

Police seized one ounce of crack cocaine, a 9mm semiautomatic pistol and a 1984 Buick.

Officers arrested the pair after an undercover operation by the Montgomery County Drug Task Force. The Christiansburg and Blacksburg police departments helped.

Before the arrests, officers served search warrants on two residences and one business, A&K Apparel and Entertainment at 302 Radford St.
