Think tank seeks counselors
Volunteers are sought to counsel businesses at the New Century Venture Center, a Roanoke business incubator. The center opened seven weeks ago and has three tenants, the latest of which was announced Friday.
Lisa Ison, the center's manager, said Finger Tips Services, which will provide servers and bartenders to restaurants, hotels, country clubs and private gatherings, has leased space in the incubator, at 1354 Eighth St., Roanoke.
The incubator, which was launched with government grants and donations, is intended as a place where business veterans in the community help fledgling private companies get on their feet. The nonprofit incubator provides office machines that tenants can use for a free and includes secretarial, security and janitorial services in the rent.
Those interested should call Ison at 342-6402 or send a resume or letter of interest to 1354 Eighth St., Roanoke 24015, by Sept. 23. Advisor orientation will begin in October.
