Lynae King scored on a penalty kick early in the first overtime period to give UNC Asheville a 3-2 win over Radford in women's soccer on Friday at Asheville, N.C.
Sophomore Ashley Hart scored the first two goals to give the Bulldogs (1-0, 1-1 Big South) an early lead, but Radford's Megan Brooks and Kelly Moran scored to force overtime.
Radford fell to 0-3, 0-1.
In other sports news in the region:
* Kily Wall and Elizabeth Hammond scored for Roanoke as the Maroons lost 3-2 to Sewanee in women's field hockey in Sewanee, Tenn.
Liz Rafferty scored the winning goal for Sewanee (1-3) with 1:24 remaining.
* Roanoke's men's soccer team welcomes Cortland State (N.Y.), Methodist College (N.C.) and Richard Stockton College (N.J.) in the Domino's Classic Tournament at Alumni Field this weekend.
Cortland (1-3) faces fourth-ranked Methodist (1-0) at 12:30 p.m. today, with Roanoke (1-0-1) taking on 15th-ranked Richard Stockton (1-0) at 3.
The consolation game is slated for 1 p.m. Sunday with the title game to follow at 3.
