Newcomers Club
RADFORD - The Valley Wide Newcomer's Club will have its first meeting of 1996-97 10 a.m. Thursday at Grove Methodist Church on Tyler Ave. Information will be shared about monthly special interest group meetings.
Newcomers to the community and anyone who is interested in meeting those who are new to the area are eligible to become members. Meetings are held the third Thursday of each month, Sept. through May, and child care is provided on site for a small fee. Call Sandra Jaranski at 639-3807.
Crafters wanted
CHRISTIASNBURG - Two upcoming local arts and crafts fairs are looking for crafters.
The Mount Tabor Harborfest will be Oct. 5 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Slussher's Chapel. Booth space is first come, first served and cost $25. Tables and electricity will be provided.
The fair is sponsored by Mount Tabor Day Care and Slussher's Chapel. Call Amy Harris at 552-4551 for more information.
Newbern's Fall Festival of Arts $ Crafts, one of the New River Valley's biggest with more than 200 vendors each year, is Oct. 12 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Oct. 13 from noon to 6 p.m.
Reservations for booth space are due by Oct. 1. Spaces are 12 feet wide and cost $20.
