CELEBRATIONS - ENGAGEMENTS

Baldwin-Stevens

Charlotte Inez Baldwin and Andrew Blake Stevens are engaged and plan to be married October 5, 1996 in Moneta, Virginia.

Charlotte is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Baldwin of Clintonville, West Virginia. She graduated from Greenbrier East High School and Virginia Hair Academy. She is self-employed at Cherry Hill Salon.

Andrew is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Duane Stevens of Blue Ridge, Virginia. He graduated from Staunton River High School and is employed by American Freightways.

Broglie-Boyd

Donald and Linda Broglie of Exmore, Va., are joined by Tom and Elaine Boyd of Bent Mountain, Va., in announcing the engagement of their children Christina Lynn Broglie and Christopher Michael Boyd. Chrissy is a graduate of Virginia Tech and is employed by Damon's in Arlington, Va. Chris, a Cave Spring High School graduate, is in his fifth year of the architecture program at Virginia Tech and currently studying at the Washington-Alexandria Architecture Consortium. Plans are being made for a May wedding.

Dotti-Armstrong

Mr. and Mrs. Norman R. Dotti of Kinnelon, N. J., are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Sarah B. Dotti, to William Harrison Armstrong III. Will is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Addison Taylor of Blacksburg, Va., and Mr. and Mrs. W. Harrison Armstrong of Alexandria, Va. Sarah is a graduate of Kinnelon High School and received her degree in Architecture from Virginia Tech. Will is a graduate of Dayspring Christian Academy and received his degree in Exercise Science from Virginia Tech. Will and Sarah wish to thank their family, friends, and their church for their continued support, encouragement and love.

An October 5, 1996, wedding is planned in Green Pond, N. J.

Dudley-Patton

Mr. Kenneth Wayne Dudley and Mr. William and Sylvia Kelley announce the engagement of their daughter, Joeylynn Dudley, to Thomas Patton Jr., son of Mr. Thomas and Linda Patton and Ms. Sandy Patton. Mr. Patton, the groom-elect of Richmond, Va., is an employee of Kronheim Distributors through Coors Beverages. Miss Dudley, the bride-elect of Roanoke, Va., has obtained VHCA Certification under Medical Facilities of America and attends Virginia Western Community College on a part-time basis. The couple plan to wed in Richmond, Va., however will reside in Roanoke.

Fore-Duerk

Mr. and Mrs. James W. Fore of Roanoke are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Jayme Ameece, to Gregory M. Duerk of Myrtle Beach S.C. He is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Donald L. Duerk of Myrtle Beach.

Jayme is a graduate of Patrick Henry High School and Virginia Tech. She was formerly employed by Hotel Roanoke and Conference Center as Assistant Restaurant Manager.

Gregory is a graduate of Myrtle Beach High School and the University of South Carolina. He is a self-employed motel owner.

The wedding is planned for October 19, 1996 in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Garrison-Johnson

Mr. & Mrs. Charles Timothy Garrison of Roanoke are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Meredith Anne, to Daniel Roland Johnson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Dietrich Johnson, Jr. of Roanoke.

Miss Garrison is a graduate of Cave Spring High School, attended Elon College, and is currently employed at the First Bank of Rhea County, Dayton, Tennessee.

Mr. Johnson is a graduate of Cave Spring High School and Bryan College and is employed by the YMCA of Dayton, Tennessee. He is the grandson of Mrs. Lawrence D. Johnson of Roanoke and the late Mr. Johnson, and also the late Mr. and Mrs. Roland C. Hughes.|

Their wedding will take place November 2.|

Lee-Wisenan

Wallace B. and Loraina M. Lee, along with Thomas B. Lee of Smith Mtn. Lake, Va., are pleased to announce the engagement of their youngest daughter and Thomas' mother, Shelley Lanee Lee to Gary T. Wisenan II ``Tommy'', father of Thomas. Tommy is the son of Gary T. and Sandra Wisenan of Roanoke, Va. An April wedding is being planned.

Markham-Ferree

Mary Jo Markham and E. Ray Ferree of Salem, and Alice and Jim Huey of Gai nesville, Georgia, proudly announce, with love and best wishes, the engagement of Suzanne J. Ferree and Brian D. Huey. Suzanne is a graduate of Salem High School and the College of William and Mary, and is a 3rd year medical student at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia. Brian is a graduate of the US Naval Academy and a lieutenant in the US Navy, stationed in Norfolk. A March 15, 1997 wedding is planned in Roanoke

Markham-VanDyke

Daniel and Sharon Swimm of Salem and Aubrey J. Markham of Vinton are announcing the engagement of their daughter, Michelle Brook Markham, to Jeffrey Shanno n VanDyke, son of Charles and Brenda VanDyke of New Castle.

Michelle is going to be a 1997 graduate of Salem High School.

Jeffrey is going to be a 1997 graduate of Virginia Tech with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.

At this time a wedding date has not been set

Smith-Taylor

Miss Angela Denise Smith and Mr. Barry Dean Taylor are engaged and planning to be married on November 2, 1996, in Salem. Angela is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Shelton C. Smith of Salem. She graduated from Salem High School and from World Harvest Bible College. She is employed by Nancy's Hair Salon. Barry is the son of Mrs. Winona Taylor of Salem and the late Estle Taylor. He graduated from Salem High School and from National Business College and ECPI. He is employed by United Parcel Service.

Stultz-Moulse

Mr. and Mrs. John D. Stultz of Roanoke are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Angela D. Stultz, to Michael D. Moulse, son of Mrs. Peggy Moulse Robinson and the late Michael G. Moulse of Salem. The wedding is planned for November 16, 1996.

Surface-Roberts

Laura Eleanor Surface and Elliott Carstens Roberts, Jr. are engaged and planning to be married on October 12, 1996 in Tazewell, Virginia.

She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Shelton Surface of Tazewell, Virginia.

Ms. Surface graduated from The College of William and Mary and Peabody College, and is employed by Tazewell County Public Library.

Mr. Roberts, Jr. is the son of Elliot Carstens Roberts of Carpinteria, California and the late Mrs. Ottilie Richter Roberts.

He graduated from Denison University and is employed by the U.S. Department of Defense.

Sweet-Doherty

Mr. and Mrs. Timothy D. Sweet of Radford are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Cassandra Lyn of Arlington, Virginia, to Mr. Christopher F. Doherty of Olney, Maryland. Mr. Doherty is a 1991 graduate of the University of Maryland at College Park and is employed by Biosys, Inc. of Columbia, Maryland. He is the son of Beverly J. LaCross of Olney, Maryland, and John J. Doherty, Sr., of Derby, Connecticut. Ms. Sweet is a 1986 graduate of Radford High School and a 1990 and 1995 graduate of Virginia Tech. She is employed by Fairfax County Department of Family Services. A May 1997 wedding is planned in Blacksburg.

Taylor-Embleau

Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Taylor of Cloverdale announce the engagement of their daughter, Mary Katherine, to Mr. Scott Embleau, son of Mr. Gary Embleau and Ms. Fran Embleau, both of Atlanta. A May wedding is planned.

Waid-Williams

Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Lee Waid of Salem are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Theresa Lorraine of Richmond, to Robert Linwood Williams of Laurel, Md. Robert is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Linwood Williams of Roanoke. Theresa is a graduate of Virginia Tech. Robert graduated from Elon College in North Carolina. A 1997 wedding is planned in Richmond
