When 40,000 football fans descend on Virginia Tech on Saturday for its noon game with Rutgers, they'll find themselves in a shuffle for new parking places. Construction at Tech has erased several parking lots and an entire street near Lane Stadium, giving athletic officials a headache as they try to find enough parking for a crowd the size of a good-sized town.
Fans also will find more officers patrolling their tailgate parties to make sure everyone is behaving in a sober manner - befitting a crowd preparing to go scream "Hokie hi" as they watch "Gobblers" chase "Scarlet Knights" up and down a rectangle of green turf.
For all the information you'll need for Saturday's game in Blacksburg, see the story and map on the front page of today's Roanoke Times.
