Rocky Mount native named to Vinton post
Keith Holland, a native of Rocky Mount, has become Vinton's assistant town manager.
Taking the Vinton job was an easy step for Holland, he said, because he has lived in this area most of his life and was well is familiar with the Roanoke Valley.
He was previously town manager at Tazewell. Prior to that, he was assistant city manager in Bluefield, W.Va., and director of finance in Lexington.
Holland, 32, is a graduate of Franklin County High School and East Tennessee State University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in criminal justice and a master's in city management.
Craig County holds festival Oct. 12
The Craig County Fall Festival and Antique Car show will be held Oct. 12, from 9 a.m to 5 p.m. in New Castle. The festival will feature live music, dancing, historical tours, food and more. Admission is free.
