If you think the rows of top-hatted, cane-tapping skeletons you've seen on T-shirts and bumper stickers are perpetual Halloween leftovers, you either own a bunch of Neil Diamond CDs or your hair has more than just a touch of gray in it.
Dem bones are icons of the Grateful Dead, a legendary rock band of the '60s and beyond which is now, itself, recently deceased.
But the spirit lives on. The Astaire-stepping symbols are now circling the necks of Dead Red ``unwine'' bottles.
The Long Strange Trip Beverage Company has just released this dealcoholized red table wine, the first of its five Celebrity Cellar's Grateful Dead Collector's Series.
If you're not a Deadhead, you might not want the skull-and-lightning bolt ``Steal Your Face'' symbol on the front staring at your dinner guests.
Not just limited to playin' in the band, the Dead also created art work for ties, skis and financed Lithuanian Olympic basketball teams. Had they entered the wine-making biz, they might have considered a name change to the Grapeful Dead. Ouch!
