MILLER SPARKS BASSETT

Heather Miller scored a game-high 27 points, including nine in the fourth quarter, as Bassett dropped Staunton River 51-36 in a non-district game on Saturday night.

April Merriman added 13 points for Bassett, which opened a 13-8 lead after the first quarter and never looked back.

Stephanie Alexander paced Staunton River (2-4) with 16 points.
