A subsidiary of American Electric Power Co. has joined a venture with two Chinese companies to finance and build a power plant in China.
AEP Pushan Power Ltd., a subsidiary of AEP Resources Inc., will hold a 70 percent interest in the $172 million plant. Henan Electric Power Development Co. and Nanyang Municipal Financial Development Co., each will own 15 percent, the companies said Monday.
The plant, to be built near Nanyang City in Henan province, will have two 125-megawatt coal-fired generating units. AEP, based in Columbus, Ohio, with an operational headquarters in Roanoke, will help design the plant.
