To my many friends throughout the Roanoke Valley:

I cannot tell you how much I appreciate the lovely way you remembered me on my very special day. A very special "thank you" is extended to Earl Woodliff, and all of the musicians and friends who were responsible for such an appreciation service for me. Your presence at the service, the heart-warming tributes by friends, government officials and the clergy, the beautiful music sung by the Community Choir and the many presentations are all appreciated much more than I can tell you. All that you have done simply gives me the desire to be of more service to our community. May God bless each of you.
