Time running out on jail-plan

Wythe and Floyd counties, which withdrew earlier from plans for a regional jail, appear to be having second thoughts. But time may be running out on their chances to go in on a new jail in Dublin to serve the city of Radford and Pulaski, Grayson, Giles and Bland counties. The New River Valley Regional Jail Authority talked over how adding back in the two counties could affect the project's timeline and size - boosting it from a maximum future capacity of 400 beds to 600 beds - at a meeting Thursday in Radford. For details, see today's Virginia section.
