A 33-year-old Floyd County woman was killed in a single-vehicle accident early Friday.
Joyce Brown Whitsett of Willis was driving on U.S. 221 near Virginia 769 about 2:30 a.m. when her pickup truck ran off the left side of the road, hit a bridge and overturned, state police said.
Her truck landed upside down in Greasy Creek. She died at the scene.
A sheriff's deputy came upon the accident shortly after it happened and called for help.
Whitsett worked at the Wal-Mart Supercenter in Christiansburg. She is survived by two sons, Tyler B. Whitsett and Reece B. Whitsett of Christiansburg.
