Bankruptcies

Six bankruptcies with business affiliations have been filed in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for Western Virginia in Roanoke. All are personal bankruptcies that the court listed as businesses because they have commercial connections and could be of interest to business creditors and customers.

* Brenda Gail Teaford of Roanoke, owner of the Stagecoach restaurant at Fincastle, filed for liquidation. She had assets of $9,001 and liabilities of $17,637.

* Louis A. Somma of Vinton, former owner of Somma's Inc., filed for a wage-earner plan for repayment of debts. He had assets of $155,896 and liabilities of $268,842.

* Dranda Marie Mooney of Salem filed for liquidation with assets of $5,301 and liabilities of $13,866. She trades as Dee & S Crafters, a carpentry and remodeling business.

* James Ellis Sult and Nancy Lee Sult of Boones Mill filed for a wage-earner plan for repayment of debts with assets of $18,031 and liabilities of $39,363. They do business as Custom Signs.

* Bruce Wayne Warden and Janet King Warden of Max Meadows filed for liquidation with assets of $31,038 and liabilities of $36,814. Janet Warden is a self-employed cosmetologist.

* Clifford Joseph Combs of Castlewood, who also is known as Joseph C. Combs, filed for liquidation with assets of $23,460 and liabilities of $53,601. He said he was self-employed but did not specify an occupation.

Briefly

* Access Inc., a new advertising agency and design studio, will open for business in the New Venture Center, a Roanoke business incubator. The company, the fourth tenant in the two-month-old center on Eighth Street in the Wasena area, was founded by Todd Marcum and Tony Pearman.

* Reynolds Construction Products Division of Reynolds Metal Co. has opened a new wholesale distribution center at 2201 Executive Circle N.E. in Roanoke. The Richmond-based company said its Roanoke center features a variety of vinyl and aluminum exterior construction products for the construction and home improvement industries. Steve Stec is the branch manager.
