STEVEN A. BENNINGTON, chief operating officer of Innotech Inc., has been appointed to the additional position of president of the Roanoke-based company, which produces on-site eyeglass lens manufacturing systems and lens products.
Bennington joined Innotech in 1992 as vice president of operations and was named chief operating officer in 1993. He came to the company from Vismed Inc., a manufacturer of in-office laminating systems, where he was vice president in charge of international operations.
AGRICULTURE
ALLEN MELTON of Roanoke has been promoted to manager of retail accounting/support for Southern States cooperatives and services. He will be working in Southern States' headquarters in Richmond. Melton previously was a district manager responsible for 14 stores in West Virginia and Southwest Virginia. He has been with the farmer cooperative for more than 20 years, working in retail and retail accounting/support. TERRY SWEAT succeeds Melton as district manager. He began his career with the cooperative in 1986 and for the past eight years has been manager of the Carroll County cooperative.
BANKING
DAVID C. BURROWS has been named vice president of portfolio protection for the mortgage loan servicing division of First Union Mortgage Corp. in Roanoke. He previously was assistant vice president of the hazard insurance area of First Union's mortgage loan servicing group. Burrows joined Dominion Bankshares Corp., predecessor of First Union, in 1990.
GUY T. "TOM" ROSE JR. has been promoted to assistant vice president at First Citizens Bank in Roanoke, where he is a sales finance account officer.
JOYCE ANN MUNDY has been promoted to bank officer at Premier Bankshares Corp., based in Bluefield. Mundy, who has been in banking for more than 25 years, joined Premier in 1990. She is manager of the bank card center.
HEALTH CARE
DAVID LINKOUS has been hired as procurement coordinator in the Roanoke office of the Virginias' Organ Procurement Agency. Linkous, who has been a registered nurse for 13 years, previously worked as a flight nurse for Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital's Lifeguard 10 air ambulance service.
DR. WILLIAM R. DEAL of Wytheville has been appointed cancer liaison physician for the cancer program at Wythe County Community Hospital. The cancer liaison program is a vital part of the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons.
INSURANCE
RODNEY SPRADLIN has joined the Mutual Life Insurance Co. of New York's Roanoke office as a field underwriter. He has been in the sporting goods industry for 10 years and is head baseball coach at William Byrd High School in Vinton.
MANUFACTURING
ROBERT O. NORDT JR. has joined John C. Nordt Co. Inc. as customer service manager. Nordt, who previously held several positions in the food distribution industry, is the fifth generation of his family to enter the wedding ring and precious metal tubing business, which has been in Roanoke since 1984.
MARK JOSEPH ANGELL has been promoted to assistant superintendent of Mod-U-Kraf Homes Inc.'s plant No. 2 in Rocky Mount. Angell formerly was line supervisor at the residential and commercial building systems manufacturer.
JERRY DODSON has joined Bassett Mirror Co. Inc. as vice president of manufacturing. He has more than 35 years' experience in the furniture industry, previously working at Broyhill and Universal furniture companies. LEE KOGER has been promoted to plant manager of the Bassett Division. Koger has been with the company for 11 years, working in various positions.
MEDIA
KIMBERLY GREEN has joined The Roanoker magazine as an account executive. She owned her own advertising firm for six years and has marketing experience in all advertising media.
TRANSPORTATION
ROBERTO H. ROBINSON has been appointed director of industrial coal marketing at Norfolk Southern Corp. He previously was manager of distribution services. Robinson began his career with Southern Railway Co., a predecessor company to Norfolk Southern, in 1982.
