CELEBRATIONS - ENGAGEMENTS

Atkins-Womack

Jacqueline Leigh Atkins and Captain David Bryant Womack are engaged and planning to be married on December 27, 1996, in Vinton, Virginia. She is a daughter of Mrs. Alvin W. Kagey of Fincastle and Mr. Roger L. Atkins of Roanoke. He is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Patrick Womack of Vinton.

Miss Atkins was graduated from William Byrd High School and James Madison University. She is currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Middle School Education from James Madison University.

Cpt. Womack was graduated from William Byrd High School and the Virginia Military Institute. He recently returned from a post in Germany where he served with the 3rd Infantry Division and is currently attending Infantry Officer Advanced Course at Ft. Benning, Georgia.

Conner-Moore

Mrs. Rebecca H. Conner of Vinton, Va., is pleased to announce the engagement of her daughter, Valerie Ann, to William Blakely Moore, son of William Moore of Port Gibson, Mississippi, and Mrs. Susan Butz of Northville, Michigan. The bride-to-be is also the daughter of the late Bobby L. Conner. She is a graduate of James Madison University and is employed by Cameron & Barkly.

Mr. Moore is a graduate of Southern Mississippi University and is employed by Armstrong World Industries.

A November 16, 1996, wedding is planned in Vinton, Va., at Vinton Baptist Church

Davis-Collins

Mrs. Katharine Phlegar Davis announces the engagement of her daughter, Susan Montague Davis of Richmond, to Kenneth Agee Collins, Jr. of Richmond, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Agee Collins of Richmond.

Miss Davis is the granddaughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. David Shanks Phlegar, Jr. and the late Mr. George Maslin Davis and Mrs. Sue G. Davis Houser. She graduated from Blacksburg High School and received her BA degree from Randolph-Macon College.

Mr. Collins is the grandson of Dr. and Mrs. Thomas Senior Berry and the late Mr. and Mrs. George Cabell Collins. He graduated from Monacan High School and received his BFA degree from Virginia Commonwealth University.

A December wedding in Richmond is planned.

Entsminger-Brady

Mr. and Mrs. Billy Entsminger of Vinton are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Natasha Marie, to Aaron Jon Brady, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Brady, of Roanoke. A summer of 1997 wedding is planned.

Ferree-Huey

Mary Jo Markham and E. Ray Ferree of Salem, and Alice and Jim Huey of Gainesville, Georgia, proudly announce, with love and best wishes, the engagement of Suzanne J. Ferree and Brian D. Huey. Suzanne is a graduate of Salem High School and the College of William and Mary, and is a 3rd year medical student at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia. Brian is a graduate of the US Naval Academy and a lieutenant in the US Navy, stationed in Norfolk. A March 15, 1997 wedding is planned in Roanoke.

Grist-Harris

Miss Susan Roberta Grist and Mr. Timothy Alan Harris are engaged to be married and plan a celebration of their becoming one in Christ with family and friends on December 31, 1996 in Lexington, Va. Susie is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph H. Grist of Lexington. She is a graduate of Lexington High School, Radford University-Bachelor of Science Degree, and James Madison University-Master of Science Degree. She is employed by Carilion Occupational Health Services, Roanoke, Va. Tim is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Norman J. Harris of Saginaw, Michigan. He is a graduate of Carrollton High School, Spring Arbor College-Bachelor of Arts, Va. Polytechnic Institute & State University-Master of Accountancy and Southeastern Baptist Theology Seminary-Master of Divinity. He is employed by Robertson Marketing Group, Inc., Salem, Va. We look forward to the celebration and the beginning of our life in Christ together.

Jensen-Cain

Donna Marie Jensen and Cody Christopher Cain are engaged and planning to be married on December 7, 1996 in Blacksburg. She is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald R. Jensen of Christiansburg. She graduated from Southern College in 1992 and is currently a Ph.D. Candidate at Virginia Tech.

He is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry D. Cain of Blacksburg. He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1993 and received his M.S. from Virginia Tech in 1995. He is employed by Dominion Biosciences, Inc., in Blacksburg.

Journell-Lafon

Mike and Susie Journell of Pearisburg, VA, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter Jeannie Marie to Aaron Lane Lafon of Blacksburg. Aaron is the son of Cathy Phillips and Arnold Lafon, both of Blacksburg. Jeannie is employed with The National Bank of Blacksburg while Aaron is employed with Norfolk & Southern of Roanoke, VA. The open church wedding is set for October 12, 1996 at 6:00 p.m. at Riverview Baptist Church, Ripplemead, VA. A reception will follow at Friends & Family Restaurant. The couple will reside in Blacksburg, VA.

Kirk-Sieberhagen

Donna Leigh Kirk and Timothy William Sieberhagen are engaged and planning to be married on December 28, 1996 in Rocky Mount, VA.

She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Kirk of Gladehill, VA. She is a graduate of Ferrum College in Ferrum, VA, and is pursuing a Master's Degree in Counseling at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, NC.

He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Sieberhagen of Grahamstown, South Africa. He is a graduate of Rhodes University in Grahamstown, South Africa, and is pursuing a Master's Degree in Divinity at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, NC.

Kittle-Winn

Jenifer Kittle and Matt Winn are engaged and planning to be married September 1997 in Blacksburg, VA.

She is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dwayne Kittle of Blacksburg. She graduated from Blacksburg High School and Auburn University in Alabama. She is employed by Virginia Tech.

He is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Otis W. Winn of Richmond, VA. He graduated from Monacan High School in Richmond and Virginia Tech. He is employed by the USDA Forest Service.

Rockwell-Waters

The engagement of Second Lieutenant Brandy Angelique Rockwell, daughter of Mrs. Brenda L. Rockwell of Chico, California, and Mr. Michael H. Rockwell of Oroville, California, is announced, to Second Lieutenant Charles Emory Waters, III, son of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas C. Waters of Roanoke. A November wedding is planned.

Lieutenant Rockwell was graduated from the University of California at Davis and was commissioned a second lieutenant in the United States Army. Lieutenant Waters was graduated from the University of Richmond and received his commission as a United States Army second Lieutenant. Both officers are currently stationed for training at Fort McClellan, Alabama.

Taylor-Spencer

Mr. Aurthor R. Taylor and Ms. Elvah D. Taylor are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Andrea Denise, to Mr. Ronald Spencer, son of Mr. Robert K. Spencer, Sr. and the late Mrs. Susan Spencer of Brooklyn, New York. A November wedding is planned.

Thomson-Vassar

Meredith Leigh Thomson and Andrew Allen Vassar of Troutville announce their engagement and plan to marry in the summer of 1997.

Meredith is the daughter of Carole Thomson of Roanoke. She attended North Cross School and is employed by John Norman, Inc. of Roanoke.

Andrew is the son of Anne Graybill Vassar and David Vassar. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. E.A. (""June"") Graybill. All are of Troutville. He attended Lord Botetourt High School and is employed by W.W. Boxley, Inc. of Blue Ridge.

Triplett-Smondroski

Tara Lynell Triplett and Jeffrey Scott Smondroski are engaged and planning to be married on February 9, 1998 in Roanoke. She is a daughter of Gwen and Paul Triplett, and is employed by First Virginia Bank.

He is a son of Laurie and Frank Smondroski, and is emplo yed by Member One Credit Union.

Wray-Parrish

Mr. & Mrs. Wayne E. Wray of Roanoke are pleased to announce the engagement of their daugh er, Kimberly Alice, to Matthew Wells Parrish, son of Mr. & Mrs. Daniel D. Parrish of Staunton.

Miss Wray is a graduate of William Byrd High School and Radford University. She is a teacher in Savannah, GA.

Mr. Parrish is a graduate of Fort Defiance High School and Radford University. He is currently serving in the U.S. Army at Fort Stewart, GA.

Their wedding will take place November 2.
