          (center), and son Marc, officially announce their donation to build 
          a 7,000-square-foot welcoming center at Explore Park. Nick Taubman's
          father, Arthur Taubman, founded Advance Auto Parts, and also has 
          contributed to other cultural activities in the Roanoke area in the 
          past. The center is scheduled to open at the same time as the 
          Roanoke River Parkway, in August of 1997. Story on  C4. color.
