Homecoming parade set for Oct. 12
BLACKSBURG - Virginia Tech is seeking involvement and community support from as many different participants as possible for its annual homecoming parade to be held at 10 a.m. Oct. 12. The deadline for entries is Sunday.

Free assistance with voter registration
BLACKSBURG - First American Federal Savings Bank will offer voter registration assistance to its customers and all eligible voters through today. The service will be provided at the bank from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, call 552-4311.
March of Dimes walk set for Saturday
BLACKSBURG - The annual March of Dimes WalkAmerica is scheduled for Saturday at Colony Park, South Main Street. Registration for "Walk for Someone You Love" begins at 9 a.m. and the walk begins at 10. There will be both a 10-mile route and a 5-mile route.
