LANDMARK TO OFFER WEB YELLOW PAGES

Landmark Communications Inc., Norfolk-based parent of The Roanoke Times, said this week it entered a partnership with Zip2 of Palo Alto, Calif., to bring Zip2's interactive Yellow Pages to Landmark newspaper sites on the Internet's Worldwide Web. The service connects local businesses with Internet consumers, the partners said.

The Roanoke Times will be among the first six Landmark newspaper Web sites to get the new technology. The Web sites of The Roanoke Times; The Virginian-Pilot in Norfolk; the Greensboro (N.C.) News-Record; the Carroll County (Md.) Times; the Citrus County (Fla.) Chronicle; and News-Enterprise of Elizabethtown, Ky., plan to have the technology by the end of the year.

Landmark's specialty publications division, which publishes antique and collectibles magazines and price guides, said it has acquired Tuff Stuff Publications Inc., which publishes magazines about trading cards. Terms of the purchase, from Cadmus Communications Corp. of Richmond, were not disclosed.
