TARPLEY'S & MAC'S TO OPEN VINTON STORE

Tarpley's & Mac's Appliances and TV of Salem will open a store in Vinton on Monday, owner Chapman McGuire said. The new store, in the former Holdren's at 100 Lee Ave., will carry the same selection of appliances and electronics as the Salem location.

The decision to open a second store was prompted by the closing of the Holdren's in August, McGuire said. "When they left, they left a big void in that market area."
