Floyd County scored the first 18 points and cruised to an 87-33 victory over Galax on Wednesday night in a non-district game at the Buffaloes' gym.
Lisa Smith led the way with 14 points and eight rebounds. Amy Vest had 12 points and Karen Pursifull added nine points and eight steals for Floyd County (11-1).
Tiffany Williams and Erin Kyle scored six points apiece for Galax (6-5).
Tuesday's game
Patrick County 73, Fieldale-Collinsville 44: Holly Weber scored 13 points to lead the Cougars, ranked fifth in Timesland, to a Piedmont District victory over the Cavaliers in Stuart.
Rachel Pendleton scored nine of her 11 points in the third quarter as the Cougars (11-1, 1-0) got untracked after trailing at the end of the first quarter.
Jennifer Witt led the Cavaliers with 14 points. Fieldale-Collinsville is 6-6, 0-1.
