The Southwest Athletic Association will hold youth basketball signups
Saturday and Oct. 12 from 10 a.m. to noon at Roanoke City Parks and
Recreation headquarters, 210 Reserve Ave. S.W. A brief in Thursday's
Neighbors section listed the sponsor incorrectly.
Roanoke County youth ages 7 to 17 may sign up for basketball and/or cheerleading beginning this week in their area of participation.
Mount Pleasant residents may call Glen Mayhew at 427-5659. Those from North County may call Lloyd Miller, 362-9675. Donna Woolridge is the Glenvar coordinator, 389-8270.
Vinton residents may call Bo Lucas, 977-1832, who will organize the boys' teams, or Glenda Young, 890-0272 for girls. They may also register at the Craig Avenue Recreation Center Saturday or Oct. 12 from noon to 2 p.m.
Cave Spring residents may register at the Brambleton Teen Center Saturday and Oct. 12 from 9 a.m. to noon, or call Phil Miron, 774-1093.
Registration will also be held Saturday and Oct. 12 and 19 at Mason's Cove Elementary School from 9 a.m. to noon. Rick Weddle is the Mason Cove coordinator, 362-5984.
