LIN CHAFF, president of Lin Chaff Public Relations & Advertising Inc., has received the Roanoke Valley Tourism Ambassador Award for 1996-97 from the Roanoke Valley Convention and Visitors' Bureau. Chaff, a member of Virginia's Blue Ridge Region Commission on Marketing, has promoted travel and tourism in the Roanoke Valley for the past nine years, often in a volunteer capacity, including serving as public relations director for Festival in the Park.
THE STATE BOARD FOR ACCOUNTANCY at the Virginia Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation has released the names of individuals who passed the Uniform Certified Public Accounting examination.
From Roanoke are David S. Collins Jr., Eutychus N. Karuru, Latonya S. Miller and Brian B. Phelps.

Seven drivers from the Roanoke area have been recognized by UNITED PARCEL SERVICE for having driven 25 years or more for the company without an avoidable accident. They are Howard Conner, Roger Yates, Martin Keith, Charles Artrip, Robert Smith, John Deisher and Ken Thacker.
