OUTTASIGHT LAWN DECOR

Forget the pink flamingos and the rear-view bent-over gardener: You can put a life-size replica of the X-wing Starfighter used by Luke in ``Star Wars'' next to your tulips.

There's only one, though, and it's offered through the Nieman-Marcus 1996 Christmas Book. Bidding starts at $35,000. You can get a form by calling (800) 825-8000 before Nov. 20.

If outdoor sculpture is not how you want to blow your Christmas budget, try something more down-to-earth: a new 1977 XK8 Jaguar convertible. It won't make the jump to light speed, but it does have 290 horsepower. There are 50 of these around, for a mere $74,975 each.

Because your Starfighter won't really get off the ground, you can spend next year's vacation in your Airstream trailer, complete with customized designer interior, a ceiling painted with blue skies and clouds, wall murals, antique rugs, full bath, microwave, etc. etc. After you spend the $195,000, you can probably only afford to park it next to your tulips.
