NEWPORT POST OFFICE TO BE DEDICATED TODAY

Rep. Rick Boucher, D-Abingdon, will help dedicate the new Newport post office at 11 a.m. today.

After a luncheon in the cafeteria of the former Newport High School on Virginia 42, the congressman will discuss Newport issues and answer questions.

The Misty Mountain Pumpkin Festival, an annual community celebration, will begin today and continue through the next two weekends.

Boucher is running for re-election this fall against Republican candidate Patrick Muldoon, a Giles County resident and independent Tom Roberts of Blacksburg.
