INDIANS UPEND BULLDOGS

Jane Grubb scored 22 points and Kristie Osborne added 21 as Rural Retreat held off Tazewell 77-68 on Friday night in a non-district game on the Bulldogs' floor.

The Indians led 56-33 after three quarters, then watched Tazewell battle back before prevailing.

Amanda Peery led the Bulldogs with 15 points.

Bath County 54, Craig County 22: At New Castle, Katie Hardbarger scored 16 points and the Chargers bolted to a huge early lead and whipped the Rockets in a Pioneer District game on Thursday night.

Suzanna Shanks added 12 points for Bath (5-6, 1-1), which led 27-9 at halftime and cruised. Sommer Horn paced Craig (1-11, 1-1) with nine points.
