James River 29, Bath County 0: Brian LeFlore rushed for 212 yards and a touchdown to lead the Knights to an upset over the defending state champion Chargers in a Pioneer District game in Buchanan.

Franklin County (2-4, 0-1) retaliated on its first offensive play when Josh Hale hauled in a pass from Bobby Basham and raced 76 yards for a touchdown.
On the ensuing kickoff, Travis Cooper tried to outdo everybody by going 99 yards for another Cave Spring touchdown, but the play was nullified by an illegal block penalty.
That was not the last of the big plays. In the third quarter, Matt Berger blocked a Franklin County punt and Aaron Williams fell on it in the end zone for what proved to be the winning touchdown.
Each team had an impressive goal-line stand on defense to prevent points. Franklin County stopped Nichols inside the 1 on a fourth-down play in the third quarter and Cave Spring kept Henry Eggleston out of the end zone on a fourth-down play.
Franklin County was held to just 20 yards rushing.
