Hedrick anniversary
G. Stanley and Wilma Jones Hedrick celebrated their 50th anniversary on October 5, 1996. The celebration was held at Ye Olde English Inn, hosted by th eir daughter and son-in-law. They have one daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Barry Hoel; and two grandsons, Todd and Chad Hoel. Stanley is retired from Royal Buick and Wilma is retired from S.H. Heironimus. They are faithful members of First Baptist Church
Holdren anniversary
Wiley and Emma Holdren celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary with a delayed recepton September 29th, 1996. This was held at the Vinton Church of The Brethren and hosted by their family. They were married August 3, 1946 by the Rev. E. D. Poe of Roanoke, Va.
They are the parents of Michael Holdren, Richmond; JoAnn McAfee, Richmond; Linda Payne, Appomattox; Mary Ellen Goolsby, Vinton, Va.; and special parents to grandsons Troy Blevins and Jeff Wood, Roanoke, Va. They have seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Mr. Holdren is retired from Appalachian Power Co.
Houchins anniversary
In celebration of the 50th Wedding Anniversary of John and Irene Houchins, they were honored at a dinner at Hollins College, Saturday evening, hosted by their brothers and sisters-in-law: Bill and Becky Houchins and Frank and Margaret Roberson. John and Irene were married October 5, 1946 at the Trinity Church of the Brethren with the Rev. Dewitt Miller officiating. John is retired from the C&P Telephone Company and Irene is a retiree of Hollins College. Both are active members of Huntington Court United Methodist Church, are involved in various volunteer activities within the community, and have resided in Roanoke for the past 50 years.
