One of the traditional harbingers of autumn, the Governors Cup Awards Ceremony, has been postponed until spring.
The Virginia Wineries Association said that the prestigious event, now slated for April 8-11, 1997, to coincide with Thomas Jefferson's birthday, will be expanded to include a charity wine auction and dinner, a special luncheon at the Governor's Mansion, the traditional wine competition and an awards ceremony.
