the intersection of North Franklin and Cambria streets in
Christiansburg. The tower will be relocated in Greenup, Ky. Radio
stations WJJJ and WVVV broadcast from the location before they were
bought by the New River Media Group and relocated several years ago.
The tower, built by Blacksburg radio entrepreneur Vernon Baker 40
years ago, is being moved to make way for an interchange on the new
U.S. 460 bypass connector. The recycled tower will serve a
Portsmouth, Ohio, FM station that's part of the Baker family's
Positive Radio Group, a series of Christian-oriented radio stations
in five states, including the local WPIN (91.5 and 102.5 FM).
