Former mayor retiring from medical practice
WYTHEVILLE - Dr. Carl E. Stark, a physician who served as Wytheville's mayor for 28 years, will retire from his medical practice Nov. 23.
Stark is part of Wythe Medical Associates Inc. He has also been active in civic and political circles.

He was also involved in establishing the Mountain Community Action Program which administers programs for low-income residents of three counties, the District III Regional Cooperative which handles transportation, hot meals and other programs for the aged populations of the region.
Wytheville Information Network in the works

Wytheville already has its own Internet home page for tourism information. Visitors from the information highway can access it at http://www.naxs.com/wytheville/wacvb and hundreds already have.
