ROB MAJORS returns an interception 86 yards for a game-breaking touchdown in Roanoke's 20-0 victory.
The Roanoke Rush moved one step closer to clinching home-field advantage throughout the playoffs with a 20-0 blanking of the homestanding Durham Vipers in a National Minor League Football game Saturday night.
The Rush (8-1) managed only 189 yards of total offense, but was aided by a strong defensive performance and a Viper team that amassed 238 yards in penalties. The biggest play of the game came when Rob Majors picked off a Durham pass at the Rush 14-yard-line and returned it 86 yards for the touchdown. Majors leads the league with 11 interceptions on the season.
Roanoke returns home Oct.19 for the regular-season finale against the Knoxville Crusaders on Fan Appreciation night at Victory Stadium at 7p.m. A win would give the Rush the home-field advantage throughout the playoffs.
