Hedge birth
Cole Alexander Hedge was born September 10, 1996 at 12:16 p.m. at Lewis Gale Hospital. He weighed 7 lbs. 3.5 oz. and was 19 1/2 inches long. Chuck and Angel Hedge are the proud parents. The grandparents are Vickie Francisco of Catawba, David LaPrad of Hardy, Harry and Susan Downing of Salem, and Clyde and Teresa Hedge of Floyd. The great grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Jones of Catawba, Mr. and Mrs. Ephraim LaPrad of New Castle, Allene Hedge of Wytheville, and Virginia Jones and Melvin Shockley of Salem. A special thanks to Vickie Francisco, my mom, for all the help and support during labor and delivery. The attending physician was Dr. Maxymiv.
Higgins birth
On Sept. 24, 1996, the Lord blessed Phillip and Kim (Johnson) Higgins with a precious baby girl. Allison Taylor arrived weighing 6 lbs. 6 1/2 ozs. and was 20 1/2'' long.
Proud grandparents are Sharon and Don Higgins of Roanoke and Ruth and Frank Johnson of Christiansburg.
Proud great-grandparents are Janie Higgins of Roanoke and Jane and Joe England of Princeton, W.Va.
Jones birth
Ebone Nicole Jones was born July 23, 1996 at 8:37 a.m. at Community Hospital. She weighed 7 lbs. 5 1/2 ozs. and was 19 1/2 inches long. Her parents are William E. Jones and Michelle Elliott. Her grandparents are Billy and Erlene Elliott, and David and Phyllis Jones, all of Roanoke. Dr. Steven Farber was the attending physician.
Kingery birth
Craig and DeeJay Kingery proudly announce the birth of their d aughter, Taylor Kirwan, on Sept. 17, 1996 at 1:39 pm at Community Hospital. She weighed 7 lbs. 4 3/4 ozs and was 20 inches long. Her beaming grandparents are Al and Dolores Starke, and Danny and Lee Kingery of Delaware and great-grandparents are Jesse and Laura Humberd of Indiana, and Elwood and Ruth Kingery of Roanoke. Much thanks to all the attending nurses, and a special thanks to Dr. Hardee, Dr. Charles Clark, and the delivery nurses, Becky and Michelle.
Layman birth
Savannah Rae Layman was born July 5, 1996 at 7:41 p.m. in Community Hospital. She weighed 5 lbs. 13 1/2 ozs. and was 19 inches long. Her proud parents are Doug and Carrie Layman. Grandparents are Robbie and Tommy Thurman of Roanoke and David and Ann Layman of Buchanan. Great grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Chester Layman, Mr. and Mrs. Keith Hannah and Mr. and Mrs. George Thurman. Special thanks to Dr. McLennan, Dr. Garcia and staff at Community Hospital.
Rierson birth
Dulaney Ferris Rieson was born on September 11, 1996 at 12:12 p.m. to Ann and Matt Rierson. She was 7 lbs. 1 oz. and 191/2 inches long. Her grandparents are Gayle and Edward Dooley of Salem, VA, and Melvin and Marion Rierson of Roanoke, VA. The attending physician at Lewis- Gale was Dr. James Kelly.
