The annual New River Valley Alzheimers/Dementia Educational Seminar will be Thursday from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. at Heritage Hall Nursing Center.
Topics to be addressed include: recognizing behavior patterns, when and how to initiate a power of attorney and living will, home safety improvements, the "healing touch" of music therapy and special activities, and reviewing your options.
Speakers will be Marcella Griggs, an assistant professor at Radford University's School of Nursing; Paul M. Barnett, a Christiansburg attorney; Carolyn Morgan, a nurse with Heritage Home Health Care; Doray Walker, a registered music therapist; and Melinda Repass, a nurse and assistant director of nursing at Heritage Hall.
