TECH-ECU TO APPEAR ON ESPN2

Virginia Tech's Nov.9 football date with East Carolina at Lane Stadium will be televised by ESPN2, a Big East Conference spokesman said Tuesday.

John Paquette, the league's assistant commissioner, said the cable network has notified the Big East office that the game will be aired as one of the conference's scheduled appearances this season. ESPN spokesman Dean Diltz said the kickoff time has not been determined, but said it is likely to be 6 or 7 p.m.

With the ECU date on the tube, the Hokies' only remaining game not scheduled for telecast is a Nov.2 visit to Blacksburg by Southwestern Louisiana. Tech's Oct.26 noon game with Pitt will be on the Big East network (WSLS Channel 10), with the Miami and Virginia games on CBS (WDBJ Channel 7) and the ECU and West Virginia dates on ESPN2.
