          High School Jazz Band helps United Way of Roanoke Valley celebrate 
          at the Salem Civic Center on Tuesday. The organization has raised 
          nearly $2.2 million since it kicked off its campaign last month - 38
          percent of its $5.5 million goal. 2. The progress luncheon featured 
          Miss Virginia Michelle Kang and Olympic fencer Suzie Paxton. The 
          final United Way report will come Nov. 18. color.
