A head-on collision between a car and a tractor-trailer killed a Virginia man on U.S. 20 near Summersville Tuesday morning.
Nicholas County authorities said William A. Kirkpatrick, 24, of Union Hall, Va., died after his car crossed the median and struck a northbound tractor-trailer.
Authorities said the truck driver suffered minor injuries but refused treatment.
Police did not know what caused Kirkpatrick to veer into the truck.
